Berlin, 6 August 2025. Leonardo Hotels Central Europe has appointed Anke Maas as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In her capacity as CHRO, she will assume responsibility for all the hotel group’s strategic staff-related matters in Central Europe. She will focus on progressing Leonardo Hotels as an attractive and future-oriented employer brand whilst placing a particular emphasis on staff loyalty, organisational development and digitalisation.

The HR Team has driven forward a number of important programmes in the areas of talent nurturing and employee involvement under the leadership of Anke Maas. In 2014, she instigated the company-wide “LeoDo” concept, which pools social activities for staff members. She also set new standards in internal digital communications as long ago as 2015, when the employee app Beekeeper was launched. This was followed by a comprehensive continuing training programme in the form of the Leonardo Academy, which has been a key building block for talent promotion and staff retention ever since.

Anke Maas began her career by completing degree level studies in public law, human resources and organisational development and obtained the qualification of Bachelor Professional in Public Administration. She has held senior HR roles for around 30 years. After beginning in the public sector, she later moved into industry. She subsequently became a Human Resources Director at Leonardo Hotels Central Europe in 2012.

“Ever since joining Leonardo Hotels in 2012, Anke has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities, strategic vision and a huge degree of commitment to fostering a strong and integrative workplace culture,” stated Yoram Biton, Managing Director Leonardo Hotels Central Europe. “As CHRO, she will remain a driving force behind our HR strategy for Central Europe and will ensure its robust alignment to the long-term objectives of the company. We would like to offer Anke Maas our warmest congratulations as she takes up her new role. We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration at this level.”
