Dual recognition for Leonardo Hotels in the 2024 “Best Trainer” Awards

Handelsblatt und Capital both pay tribute to the hotel chain’s outstanding training concept

Berlin, 07. November 2024. Leonardo Hotels has received dual confirmation that it is one of the very best companies in Germany when it comes to delivering training. The hotel chain was named number one in the hotel sector in a “Best Trainers of 2024” study commissioned by the business newspaper Handelsblatt. In the cross-sectoral category, the company even made it into the top 10 of all companies providing vocational education and training. The magazine Capital has also conferred a “Germany’s Best Trainer 2024” award on Leonardo Hotels in the “over 2,000 employees” category. In this case, we won recognition for our performance in the areas of training and of dual higher education study.

“We are delighted with this double acknowledgement of our training philosophy,” said Torsten Kraft, Team Lead for Talent Management at Leonardo Hotels Central Europe. “Many companies put their faith in traditional techniques, but we adopt a different approach by firmly integrating our trainees into the business. This fosters both their professional skills and the personal development of every individual and is instrumental to the successful completion of training.”

Innovative methods and empathetic coaches
One key to this success is the “Stuzubicoach” Programme, in which all trainees and dual higher education students are assigned a personal coach. These specially trained mentors use modern learning methods to ensure flexible and individual support which meets the needs of Generation Z. A tool called Mapstell is also deployed. This creates a tailored learning environment by visualising personal strengths and weaknesses. Unlike other chains, which stick to old tried and tested training arrangements, Leonardo Hotels thus offers close and personalised assistance which truly places the focus on the trainee.

“Our programme is setting new benchmarks in training,” Torsten Kraft continued. “This dual award once again endorses our approach. As well as helping our trainees to progress to the next stage in in their career, we are also seeking to give them the tools they need to find success in an ever-changing world.” 462 trainees and dual higher education students currently form part of the Leonardo Family. Training occupations include hotel specialist and cook. Young people undertaking a course of dual higher education study have the opportunity to acquire a Bachelor of Arts degree in Tourism Management, Hotel Management or Food Management.
