Berlin, 8 October 2026. Two have become one. Leonardo Hotels Central Europe officially opened the repositioned Leonardo Hannover Medical Park on 7 October. Two hotels which previously operated separately have been brought together as one property with 208 rooms, a fresh design concept and a collaboration with TUI BLUE.

Two houses, a single design language

The Leonardo Hannover Medical Park is situated between the medical campus and a green city park, not far from the Eilenriede City Forest. Both the trade fair centre and Hanover’s main railway station can be accessed in only a few minutes.

Interior design is by Andreas Neudahm, who was assigned the task of translating the different building structures and room sizes into a common design language and of lending all 208 rooms a consistent quality feel without sacrificing the character of the existing building. The team therefore took a careful and considered approach to the redesign.

In the 112 rooms of the first part of the building, well-preserved elements have been consciously integrated into the new concept and are complemented by selected furniture, materials and colours. Additional sofa beds create more flexibility and transform individual rooms into small suites.

The second part of the building uses light-looking furniture, bright colours and high-quality fabrics to deliver a sense of space in its 96 rooms. Carefully chosen materials combine homeliness with modern design.

New public areas

The hotel’s public areas have undergone further development too. The bar, restaurant and breakfast area all feature a new look and feel, and the reception area has been freshened up via the addition of new furniture and custom-made carpentry elements. The hotel’s restaurant capacities have also been expanded, whilst the co-working and conference areas in the second part of the building have been remodelled. Other facilities on offer now include an outdoor pool, a gym and a mini market. In the corridors, where some of the carpets have been replaced, a revised colour scheme and artworks and pictures relating to Hanover combine to produce a uniform appearance.

The redesign focused on making sustainable use of the existing property. Elements worth preserving were specifically integrated into the new concept instead of being replaced. The final result is a modern hotel which has incorporated the further development and reinterpretation of the Leonardo design.

“The Leonardo Hannover Medical Park shows just how an existing hotel can be repositioned in a contemporary way,” said Yoram Biton, Managing Director Leonardo Hotels Central Europe. “Business travellers will find everything they need for a productive stay, regardless of whether they are attending a trade fair, an appointment in Hanover or indeed an in-house meeting. We are particularly pleased about the cooperation agreement with TUI BLUE. This makes the connection to our direct neighbour, the TUI Campus, clearly visible in the hotel. I would like to thank the entire team, Andreas Neudahm and all our partners.”

60 rooms in TUI BLUE style

One particular feature is the cooperation arrangements that have been made with TUI BLUE, the global hotel brand of the TUI Group. TUI BLUE’s Hanover campus, where employees and partners from all over the world work on developing new holiday offers for international guests, is located directly opposite. In collaboration with TUI BLUE, 60 rooms across two floors have been completely redesigned and equipped with “TUI BLUE Signature Design Elements”.

“The challenge for us was to design a clear Leonardo room whilst also ensuring that TUI guests feel at home straightaway,” explained the interior designer Andreas Neudahm. “The aim was not simply to juxtapose two designs. We were seeking to develop a coherent overall picture from both brand worlds.”

In conjunction with the TUI design team, elements were selected that fit harmoniously into the Leonardo interior. Textile accents and accessories in characteristic TUI BLUE tones, a coordinated visual language and branded details were used to combine both identities in a subtle way. This cooperation will also be visible from the outside in future thanks to the TUI Smile on the roof of the hotel.

Opening in Hanover

Around 200 invited guests celebrated the completion of the comprehensive renovation works on 7 October. The event was hosted by Stephan Löwel, Chief Operations Officer DACH, Nino Rosenlund, Regional Multi Property Manager and Michael Plume, General Manager of the hotel, who were all on hand to welcome business partners and customers alongside other guests from the fields of business, civic society, local politics and the media.
